Ömer Tuğrul İnançer is a Sufi scholar, musician, and leader of the Halveti-Jerrahi Sufi order. Founded in the 17th century by Muhammad Nuraddin al-Jerrahi, who traced his lineage to the Prophet Muhammad, the Halveti-Jerrahi order was widespread throughout Turkey, Macedonia, and the Balkans during the Ottoman period. Today it is a cultural, educational, and social relief organization with members from diverse professional, ethnic and national backgrounds, including communities in the United States. Ömer Tuğrul İnançer has been the leader of the Halveti-Jerrahi order since 2000, and frequently delivers lectures on Sufism, Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī, and Islam in Turkey and internationally.
